In my early twenties, I had the privilege of accompanying a husband and wife team of professional cave crawlers and cave surveyors. They took me through some very tight passages and across deep crevices in Jewel Cave which opened into magnificent Crystal rooms. Unfortunately I had to leave my glasses behind, and being very nearsighted, I missed much of the beauty. They invited me back anytime, but once was enough.

Jackie , glad the meds are helping you! The traffic in the Lincoln tunnel was backed up when we were there I was so concerned it would start leaking and we’d all be trapped! It was terrifying!

I've been in a couple caves as a teen but no way I could go again to claustrophobic and I'm terrified it will cave in. I also hate tunnels I have to go through one going to Mobile I'm afraid it will cave in and I'll drown a couple times traffic was backed up I had to force myself not to get out and walk! I had to breathe in a paper bag to not pass out! so glad I take anxiety meds now. I still can't sit with my back toward other people, or sleep by a window or exterior door. I wasn't like this growing up.
