Pequod's Pizza is a deep-dish pizza staple in this city. Which city is it?
Correct answer: Chicago

DistressedHunter8576
It wouldn't be first pick. Lou Malnati's pizza is the number one pizza in Chicago. I live here. And that's everybody I know gravitate towards. I never even heard of the other one. I'll have to check it out

SeabrookSue
DistressedHunter8576, I lived in Chicago for 12 years and I never heard of that pizza joint either and I missed the question!

FaithfulReader
Regardless of your preferred style of pizza, it's pretty cool the owner chose names from literature for his restaurants. Sure beats Pizza Hut or Dominos or Pizza John's in more ways than one!

brownidol
when it said deep dish pizza staple I knew it had to be Chicago because Chicago is famous for their deep dish pizza.

old lady pharmacist
I've lived in Chicago for 67 years and have never heard of these 3 places, either.

Player Aquilla
DistressedHunter8576, have been going to Chicago for 30 years and truly love Lou Malnati's pizza, was just there last weekend w/ family and grandsons got their 1st taste😁

Gino's East pizza I hear is good?

Player #9728531
I've had Pequod's pizza several times, it is delicious. But it's not classic Chicago pizza like Lou Malnati's, Giordano's or Uno's. I'm a Chicago native (not suburbs of Chicago).

Chicago deep dish pizzas are the best. I would not eat any other type now. I never heard of that Pizzaria though.

DistressedHunter8576, in visiting Chicago, my husband and I dined at Lou’s. Best pizza I’ve ever had.

Brie
I lived in Chicago most of my life and I never even heard of them

Spyder
Opinion does not equate to fact. This is very debatable. I can't imagine why this pizza would be called a staple of Chicago. Kinda bad question...

Tugboat
My favorite style of pizza.

Cru Jones
A staple? Hardly.

TJ SISTA
Yummy ... 😛

Michael
I used to live in Chicago!

Player #32121752
figured it had to be Chicago or New York, since New York was not a choice I picked Chicago.

FaithfulReader, ... Near a College perhaps? Actually I would like it more if it weren't. kinda tired of colleges getting credit for being the ONLY ones that THINK!

Chicagogal63
Shaddy1997, agree!

Chicagogal63
Chunk, exactly what I thought. 😉

KrazyJourneyman47871, absolutely. Thin crust, square cut, no more than 3 ingredients. Deep dish is a tourist thing. That said, I do like Pequods as it's lighter and not as doughy as the others, which are essentially cheese souffles.

Player #25924774
l am a life long Chicagoian & have never heard of peaquad. I had been to Gullivers and the pizza is good. But Malnattis is better.

Chunk
I’m really glad none of you know about this joint. It means my next pizza will come out sooner.

Player #16226334
how are the rest of us in the us supposed to know this?

mermaidmessiah
neapolitan/NYC pizza.. thin crust.. no one wants a bread bowl (sorry Chicago, no offense)

EcoGal
Lived in Chicago many years and now live in Evanston. Katz's Inferno predates my residency. Mostly tourists eat deep dish pizza. Chicago area residents love pizza but prefer tavern-style or Neapolitan pies.

Player spacecowboy🤠, absolutely the best.

Memories! I went to college in the late 60s and we frequently order from the Inferno! I had never had deep dish having grown up in NY.
