How many eyelids does a camel have per eye?
Correct answer: Three
prplgrl
also, the large surface area of their hooves (?) prevents them from sinking into the sand the same way snowshoes prevent ine from sinking into the snow
constantgamer0421
That third eyelid, which they fail to mention here, is called a nictitating eyelid. 😉
constantgamer0421
Skinks (a lizard type) and alligators also have nictitating eyelids.

A camel's hump does not, cannot, store water. The hump stores fat so the camel doesn't have to stop to eat in deserts where food is scarce. Camels require minimal water but they need sufficient food, so they eat when food is plentiful and store the calories in their humps.

Absolutely Awesome information. Nature is Amazing!!
Teri
I believe the camel store water in their large oval sized blood cells not their organism

What I remember about camels is from time spent in Egypt when I was a kid. Everywhere we went there were people trying to sell you a ride on a camel. The one cool thing I did while there was I climbed up the great pyramid. You can't do that anymore but back in the eighties they didn't care

Indeed, DA. God created this, and all other, fabulous organisms. We didn't create ourselves, and nature/the universe didn't create itself. Common sense. AND, it respects the Law of Non-contradiction. A Law of Physics. By the way, I tried to give you a thumbs-up, and the site wouldn't let me. So much for freedom of expression. All glory to God. Keep well.
FrogsofWar56
Player #25874027, per eye specifically means 'for each eye'.

riskha81, If you live in the dessert, your life may well depend on your camel. You’d probably learn to pay attention to it, and have to learn about its needs and health.

I love this fact!

Camels are actually believed to be originally from Alaska. The oldest camel fossil records were found there not long ago. Perhaps the three eyelids were originally grown to protect them from something else?
