From what I've read, the "early" prizes mentioned didn't come until much later. I *think* the original prizes were metal, not plastic, temporary tattoos, etc. Those were around in the 1950s. Today I think you get something like a QR code for some online thing. I remember the tattoos, rings, little comic booklets and little plastic magnifying glasses that I regrettably used to try to burn ants, mean culpa. The candied popcorn was OK, but I really preferred the peanuts, which I always suspected they gave you less of over the years.
