DocileAdvent9, very different role for Tom Hanks....and he does a very good job in a very understated character, which is opposite of most of his roles

Paul Muni was nominated for an Oscar for his very first movie and his very last movie. What bookends! Newman scored a nomination for his last, but, Lord, his first, film was a turkey! Amazing that he rebounded, as opposed to first movies that bombed for others (Neil Diamond comes immediately to mind) and no one wanted to invest in a followup. What? You never heard of Muni?! Mother of Mercy, give me strength!

Both actors gave an excellent performance to their roles. Tom Hanks played a different character than his usual and Paul Newman showed his versatility in playing his role that has made him a leading man in the movies.

Long list of favorite Newman movies, but R2P came as a surprise nonetheless. Whether it was his first, fiftieth, or last movie, a very fine work.
