actually the pineal gland has been shown to produce DMT (the most powerful psychedelic known) which is totally illegal, we're all criminals lol. it's thought to be activated in times of extreme stress, such as a near death experience (which would explain the huge similarities between near death exp and the description of a DMT trip. interesting stuff :)

Player #3281842, An organ is a structure composed of two to four types of tissues working to perform functions that are beyond the scope of an individual tissue type. Even the glands within the integument can be considered organs; any gland is primarily secretory epithelium surrounded by connective tissue for support and protection. Likewise, the blood vessels and nerves in these organs are organs unto themselves. Even bones are considered organs Read more: http://www.biologyreference.com/Oc-Ph/Organ.html#ixzz5f2heorh1

This gland is still, to this day, believed to be our "Third Eye" or "Seat of the Soul" by many! It is said, that through deep meditation, this gland can be accessed for relaxation purposes and likewise.

Mine must either be broke or non existent. I rarely sleep at night since I was young, and always have a better frame of sleep during the day. The only time I have been in a proper routine with sleeping patterns was when I worked nights 🤔

interesting how melatonin is derived from serotonin. We are a complex machine. Still so little is known about us, the planet, and our universe.

DazedCentaur56001, Higher levels of fluoride in the human pineal gland have been correlated with pineal calcification in some studies. However, correlation does not equal causation. At this time, we understand that both fluoride and calcium can build up in the pineal gland.

Thank you for explaining this. I just got off an antidepressant which totally messed with my circadian rhythm. Thanks to this question I now know why. Serotonin plays a huge role in the sleep wake cycle. I was on a Serotonin Inhibitor - Celexa. Btw, I was on it for eighteen years before I started reducing it. It took me another year to get off it because it’s actually addicting. An inept neurologist put me on it. When it comes to antidepressants buyer beware! They will rob your mind, your life, your concentration, your memory, just about everything. Doctors prescribe it too easily when they have no business doing so. If someone prescribes these to you ask why before you take them.
