Got to serve him dinner one night while I lived in Big Bend, Texas. He was in town filming. Was a very friendly and personable guy. I was 20 at the time and a generous tipper to boot. Something about him just exuded charisma both on and off screen.

I also grew up watching the TV shows he was in, but probably my favorite role of his was King Marchand in Victor/Victoria opposite the great Julie Andrews. Delightfully funny movie!
