Right after WW2 he opened the first fast food Burger joint, in Hollywood no less. All my blood numbers etc... are AOK if I visit the Golden Arches 2-3 a month. So I do. I remember buying the regular burger for 19 or 29 cents after little league. None of us would buy the Big Whopper because back then no one could/would eat anything so huge. lol

I live in Salem Oregon and we have the Kroc Salvation Army Community center and pool and gym. It is an impressive facility with a rock climbing wall and a water slide even. His wife had it built and dedicated to him. What a wonderful blessing for this community!
