Obviously the River has different version of its name which is coming from the Latin Danubia, also called Danube, Duna, Dunau ...etc depends of which it flows through. Same name, different version in each language.

The German mountain from which Danube begin (spring of river) is Schwarzwald (in English Black Forest).
I have been there, if you visit Baden-Wurttemberg, you have to visit that mountain too. ❤️

Debs, we visited the Black Forest spring of Danube last December. lots of snow and a silence of the begining of the world.

Hugo, I visited the Black Forest also. With my parents in 1968 when I was 6 years old. I still remember it,there was lots of snow. It was the first time I'd ever seen tea bags on a string!
