it's actually a very quick and simple way to cook a meal. lay the fish or chicken on top of veggies, season, tbs butter, cooking wine if desired, seal in the package and cook.

My cuz (who was an amazing host when we visited in Sysney on holiday) cooked Coral Trout in the oven in Aluminum foil with seasoning ect & when he brought it out he drizzled a hot seasoned oil over the fish. It was the most tender & delicious fish we had ever had. I must get the recipe.

Mallowchan. I went a more circuitous route. The term is French and papillote reminds me of papillon which is butterfly in French. Then I thought of the cocoon that the caterpillar builds.

I bake most of my meats like this. Mostly using aluminium foil. Will try the parchment paper. Got the answer wrong, though. Never going to forget it.

Greg Martin, I had a "hobo" at my college cafe and it was AMAZING! it was a seasoned hamburger patty with potatoes and onions and seasoning wrapped in tinfoil and baked. I have craved them ever since! soooo yummy!

it's the only way I've ever cooked. no-one taught me. Wrapping your seasoned personalized meal in greaseproof paper and tin foil then forgetting about it for 45mins in the oven is both easy and delicious. I called it "student cooking"!
