Who was Count Dracula?
Correct answer: A fictional vampire
MissBennet
Count Dracula or Dracui was not a fictional character, he was a real person. Him being a vampire is a fiction.

First of all let me tell you that the picture associated with this question shows Vlad Tepes, the real ruler of Tara Romaneasca(Country of Romania - if you like) starting with the year 1448 on and off. The "correct" answer given by this game is actually not true, there are no true choices here bc Dracula was Vlad Tepes' name given by his father Vlad Dracul, so you see there is no virtual vampire here, we are actually talking about a real person! The answer is wrong! For this question the correct answer is - Vlad Tepes(Vlad the Impaler - if you like) or Vlad Dracula, The ruler of Tara Romaneasca starting 1448. The nick name "Impaler", got it from the ottomans as Vlad used to kill them(the ottomans) by impaling them. Horrible, i know, but this is the history. Trust me, the ottomans weren't nice people either! As a way of payment they would accept children, boys and girls, especially boys. Those children would never see their families again. They would also take the young girls for their harem too, plus gold, all their harvest and animals! So they were horrible, too! Hope you enjoyed this history lecture!

Vlad the Impaler was the historical person, who learned the art of impaling after being capture d by the Turks and used this technique against his captors, after escaping, in order to ward off intruders, from his castle and Homeland. He was Romanian and of the Order of the Dragon. Bram Stoker elaborated and embellished upon this story and multiple legends to come up with Dracula.

Though Dracula is a purely fictional creation, Stoker named his infamous character after a real person who happened to have a taste for blood: Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia or — as he is better known — Vlad the Impaler. Vlad III, known as Vlad the Impaler or Vlad Dracula, was voivode of Wallachia three times between 1448 and his death. He was the second son of Vlad Dracul, who became the ruler of Wallachia in 1436... Source: Wikipedia

Player #3189768, LOL exactly. Everyone is repeating the exact information the game's explanation gave and acting like they're dropping some amazing pearls of wisdom on the rest of us dummies.

It does say in the info provided that Dracula is based off Vlad, a real person.....just sayin'.

No one mentioned that many Romanians still consider him a savior and pray for his return. He did what was best for his people.

When I was younger, I used to cover myself with a pillow and scream. I was so scared of Dracula then like he is kind of scary 😳
Diane
Vlad the Impaler was very real and is a distant relative of the British Royal family. King Charles owns property near the castle but he does not own the castle. That is owned by another relative

Interesting fact: he would not only punish his Ottoman enemies by impaling, but also nobles for treason and thieves - this set such an example that he was a tough but just ruler. It is said during his rule, you could leave a bag of gold at a crossroads, return in two weeks and still find it in the same place.
He had to retreat after a fight with Mehmed II, the mightiest ruler of his time, conqueror of Constantinople, but left about 6000 impaled turks (ottomans) along his route.

The picture shown is of Vlad Dracula or Vlad the impaler . When he came to power , he dropped the S from his name . The name Dracula means son of the dragon or son of the devil .
