RuralExplorer78921, there's an entire museum dedicated to seahorses on the Big Island of Hawaii near Kona. you can stick on hand in the tank feed them and theyll wrap their tails around your finger.

LoriB857
A male seahorse carries the eggs deposited by the female in his pouch. He does not get pregnant

Nutshell
LoriB857, so a woman who has another woman's fertilized egg implanted in her, is not pregnant? Odd. They've always looked pregnant to me.
My point being, your body doesn't need to produce the egg for you to be pregnant or give birth.

SapphireAlly72718
too bad more species don't do that

Now that's a miracle of Mother Nature!

MALE pipe fish, leafy sea dragons,AAAAND sea dragons carry female's eggs until they hatch. The male of these 3 species DON'T GET PREGNANT.

Holls
Article in 2015 of a study done by the University of Sydney discusses how male seahorses provide more than just a brood pouch that holds the eggs. They also give nutrients, protection from diseases (immune system), and a few other things. Since that was 8 years ago, more could have been discovered that either refuted or confirmed what this study discovered. Just putting this out there

Nutshell, The egg in a woman is assimilated and the body becomes essential for nutrients, oxygen and other necessities for life. The male seahorse is simply a protective pouch while gestation occurs within the egg much like a kangaroos pouch. Big difference. Face it. Male and females have naturally different and gender specific roles.

Mouse
Nutshell, far different than a human uterus accepting an egg being implanted

Mouse
Nutshell, she lays eggs in the pouch of the male.

Mouse
Nutshell, and is only used in place of a cave because they don't live near such an area so they've evolved the ability to hold eggs. the female is impregnated by the male and instead of laying eggs on a rock
