What countries do betta fish come from?

In other words, the only countries that were ALL close to each other! lol

I've heard them called Siamese (Thai) fighting fish.

We had an aquarium full of female beta fish. We had to separate the males from them since they terrorize the females. Each male had to be in a separate 2 gallon tank since males fight each other to death because they are very territorial creatures! I love beta fish because they are so colorful!

Mean little buggers...best kept away from other fish!

Well here in America we have a lot of betta males instead of fish

nimblemoon, I had one in a community tank with gouramis and loaches. They got along... yes, swimmingly. Until the betta jumped out. He was lovely, too.

yes they are quite the jumpers. I had one in my office and the person who fed it for me left the screen off. I found it dead on my desk and felt real bad for it. not to mention quite upset with the fish sitter.

so interesting!! didn't know they can breathe air!
