Correct answer: Julia Child

There is a wonderful book by Jennet Conant, A Covert Affair, that includes this period of her life. She met her husband while serving in the OSS, he later became a diplomat assigned to Paris. Partly to improve her cooking skills and partly out of boredom she decided to study at a French cooking school. There's a very funning section about her trying to learn to precisely chop onions.

Never have I heard about Julia Child or other women being involved with this worthy matter!

Player #151898054
I hadn't heard of Ms. Child's wartime experience. It's also fascinating to know that in addition to protecting personnel in the water, shark repellant was also used to keep the creatures from blowing up anti-submarine mines.
