I remember this like it was yesterday. I am from Midland and was 19 at the time. I drove over to the site and it was incredible the amount of people, lights and love. Unfortunately - the firefighter who carried her out of the well could not handle the press and fame and committed suicide several years later. 😞

I remember when this happened. I was happy when they rescued her. Wish her the best.

Guess I was in my mid 30s when that happened.I worked at Weber Aircraft in Texas.but drove from Okla.everyday to work.Scary too because when we once lived in the country had wells. too and I thought.That could have been me when I was a hot long time ago
