I remember this very well. My kids were both little then and I remember feeling so bad for that poor mom. Even Mikhail Gorbachev sent good wishes!

Can't believe it was that long ago. Seems like way more recent. We were glued to the news everynight for the updates.

I was in High School at the time and I was glued to the TV praying for her and her family.

Stacey, we may have known each other. I was with the Midland county sheriff's department explorer post, and worked crowd control for those 3 days. My last name is Rice.

I remember this vividly. I remember crying with joy when she was brought up out of the well.

Unfortunately Paramedic Robert O'Donnell, developed PTSD from the rescue & at age 37 committed suicide.

I wonder what JESSICA is doing these days?

Stacey
I remember this like it was yesterday. I am from Midland and was 19 at the time. I drove over to the site and it was incredible the amount of people, lights and love. Unfortunately - the firefighter who carried her out of the well could not handle the press and fame and committed suicide several years later. 😞

I remember when this happened. I was happy when they rescued her. Wish her the best.

Oh the tears of joy I shed when she was finally pulled up out of that hole.

old school truckr, apparently so. Wikipedia: "Paramedic Robert O'Donnell died by suicide in 1995, suffering post-traumatic stress disorder after the rescue, struggling to cope with the event and the subsequent decline in attention.[12]"
