Beirut and all lebanon is beautiful east to west, north to south. It is a shame how media portrays lebanon, and how people think we r in war all time. Proud to be lebanese ✌️
momo
Lebanon is a beautiful country. I have been many times. The people are very warm and friendly.
WaldoLydeker
Beirut was a beautiful resort city before it was leveled like Dresden.

If this area had seen no war and cruelty could be 10 times more beautiful and wealthy than Dubai

Lebanon is beautiful and my heart is breaking from the explosion in Beirut. I hope to go back there one day and see it risen from the ashes.
Sonia

Radakyl
Lest we forget, The Beirut Hilton!

Lebanese civil war was disastrous for the state. Hopefully never repeat it again. 🙏🏻

Beirut was named International most beautiful City I think in the 60s Its a pity what it's like now with huge walls erected by the Israelis so sad ,,,,

if I could time travel.. I would like to see Beirut in the 1920s.

Player #125843019, this is not 100% accurate. Hamas and Hizballah are fanatic terrorists and don’t represent all Muslims.
Player #125843019
Once again it's the Muslims, every we're they are there is trouble, just like now with hamas and lsrael

Simon Moawad, excellent post! Human beings are so tribal

Extremists cause war, not regular hard working people.

Player #3295460, Beyrut was known as Paris at the Mediterranean Sea. Still is Beautiful!
Tugboat
Player. Ty, I was there twice. Once to help evecuate Arafat, and the PLOs, as well as other foreiners in 1982, and after the bombing in '83.
Tugboat
Lot of different factions there. Trying to keep peace there is almost impossible.
Simon Moawad
The text is not accurate. Demarcation line is true but not Green line as i know. Shia and sunnites were not separated during the civil war and also druze and alawites were not also separated. The text also ignores the fact of foreign factions or armies in the war such palestinian PLO factions, syrian and israelian armies being at some specified times part of the civil war.

Player #32165110
Bagdad was divided too#!

WaldoLydeker,
Dresden was an overnight carpet bombing destruction . Beirut was a piece by piece explosive dismantling over years . No comparison.

Player #3295460, I apologize for always having bad thoughts in my head as a pre-teen about ALL of the Middle East being 'bad'.
Nuchtira
WaldoLydeker, Whilst what happened in Beirut was undoubtedly tragic it doesn't even begin to compare to what was done to Dresden.

SQinfoNUTS, that is so not true
johnnagem77
does anybody know how it is now?
SQinfoNUTS
WaldoLydeker, for about four years I had to live in a pretty awful apartment complex. One day I was speaking to a woman about things in general and she said to me to me this is heaven it's a lot better than living in Beirut were people shoot through your windows on a regular basis.
