Tiomkin and Washington scored big (pun intended) 6 years earlier by winning the Oscar for Best Song from "High Noon". Too bad no Emmys given for song else the pair would certainly be unique, not necessarily for winning in two media, but from the source being a Western. How many other Westerns have had an original, catchy, popular tune from either film or TV?

Player #48458, I really liked Belushi and Aikroyd singing it in The Blues Brothers movie. Belushi with the bullwhip was a nice, funny touch.

Frankie Laine also sang the theme song for Blazing Saddles. Mel Brooks never told him that the movie was a satire. Laine thought he was just singing another Western theme.
