GreyishOccupation2, First time I had “Grits” I liked them. I went to New Orleans after Katrina to help. We (a church group, from California) stayed in an Army Tent. The Mess Sargent serviced grits. To the day I like Grits. Funny, as mentioned before, I am Latino American and having Spicy Cajun food there did mess my my stomach a little. Pastor in charge of us did have to give me medication for my acid indigestion. I fondly remember those we helped in New Orleans, I say a prayer for them. Many told me they would come to California to help us incase the big quake would come. Thank God no humongous temblor has come. I love this game and I love all. Keep the peace and hang in there, we can only believe it will get better.

vagabondvision, Sounds delicious, me being Mexican American, I like Tamales, specifically green chicken. When there is leftover green chile sauce, I like it on my Tamale, with a sunny side egg. I break the egg yolk over the delectable goodie…This is my morning Christmas breakfast, simply delicious. My grandparents were from the South…South of the border.

Never heard of grits until I got married. My husband is from Texas and his mother served grits. My husband hates ALL hot cereal, so I've never had a chance to taste them. Enjoyed reading about the history of grits.

love any type of savory grits. Start out with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Then I might add cheese, bacon or bbq'd shrimp 🦐. BBQ shrimp is with spices , lemon juice, hot sauce, and Worcestershire and don't forget the butter 🧈.
