rmzh, I think it's possible that this was either a GED or honorary diploma bestowed by the school for some charity work he did. he was expelled before he ever graduated back in the 50s. I tried to find information online but was unsuccessful

Smothers Brothers show was so intelligent and erudite. Always spot on politically and socially. George Carlin was the frosting on the cake. He was brilliant at observational comedy and would have had a field day with some of Trumps wandering speeches. Language was a big thing with him...how words are used especially when they had varied meanings. He was the kind of comedian that made you think. it always helped to be a little buzzed when listening to him !!!

The Smothers Brothers were funny. Even in their 90s show. Went to Tommy's winery once. We still quote Carlin's "place to put your stuff" and "is it meat or is it cake?"

rmzh, I don't know... I do know he was expelled from one or two high schools before he joined the Air Force, where he was court-martialed 3 times, so it's possible he didn't graduate until he was 35. 😂
