The sold the soul rumour came from the fact he was pretty bad at the guitar then got good almost over night of so peeps mighta thought but I just think the dude practiced hard as it was his ticket to a meal, a bed for the night & much much more. Oh how I love the early recording blues/jazz or classical/opera it just had such a great sound.
