What is this?
Correct answer: Ard plough
KatWOhler
My maternal grandfather had one, pulled by a stubborn horse named Slocum. When asked why he called the horse that, he said because it was slow to come when you called it.

Description of how this plough is used sounds awfully ard.

champman21,
yes it's easy to not remember something like this, especially if it was not in your time. That was the times when you had to work hard to eat. God bless the people for their back breaking work to feed their families, or working on someone else farm for a little money back then. Times like that, really make you appreciate the new world times. Those were the stronger folks back then, and God fearing Souls. Thanks for listening, have a wonderful day.

I've heard of a plow, but not an ard plough. Is plow and plough the same thing? Interesting contraption. I got the correct answer because I knew what the other 3 were.

MiDrums, I think you mean you live in a different kind of place. To me, weird means strange, maybe scary. I am guessing that your home is in a less culturally advanced place.
You are learning many things that most if never have the opportunity to experience.
May God bless you.
