No mention of Buddy Ebsen above, so here goes: originally a dancer on Broadway, appeared in a dozen movies in the 30's dancing away, could have been The Tin Man in "The Wizard of Oz" but became allergic to the makeup, Davy Crockett's sidekick on TV in the 50's, was Audrey Hepburn's husband in "Breakfast at Tiffany's"!!!, Hillbillies in the 60's, Barnaby Jones in the 70's. Quite a resume. Died at the age of 95, must have lead a clean life to live that long.

Interesting sidebar: I knew Donna Douglas. She was born in Pride, LA about a 15 minute drive from my house. I met her in a restaurant in West Feliciana parish. She was one of my regular customers and was always so nice and generous and willing to chit chat. She was a beautiful lady.

WaldoLydeker, It wasn't that he was allergic to the makeup. They used aluminum powder over clown white and in the process of application he inhaled the dust. This caused his lungs to fail and nearly killed him. When he was replaced by Jack Haley they switched to a paste type makeup

Thunderduck, Irene Ryan was also in a number of other movies and series! She played guest roles in Gunsmoke, and Bonanza, and she had more extensive roles in other western, and old private eye movies, and she danced and sang on stage !

How interesting. l was a small child when l watched this and having no understanding of age differences just assumed the 2 "really old" ones were husband and wife and the other 2 brother and sister.
