Which major French city is situated near the confluence of the Rhone and Saone rivers?

Very historic area. Great place to visit I should think. Anyone been there?

EsenMau, I have bern several times and it is beautiful. A great place to eat too!

I may be a minority in this opinion, but I actually much preferred Lyon over Paris. I found the people much friendlier.

I wonder if this is where green bean lyonaise came from.
