What is a colander?
Correct answer: A sieve

lisalovesit1979
I thought a sieve had a fine wire mesh for sifting and colander was much larger and had bigger holes for draining and washing??

Monica Bembry
this question is called a strainer for the poor .. lol😂🤩

Molly Dog
All colanders are sieves but not all sieves are colanders. I dunno I just made that up.

BerrikBerrikson
they are not exactly the same. a colander is for straining water and vegetables etc and a sieve is for sifting lumps from flour and other fine ingredients

Player Black
we call it a "strainer"

Uninitialized

Joshua2020
My Polish immigrant grandma called it (imagine broken English) a "shpagetti-stop-vater-go-out"

My colanders are used as colanders, and if all you use them for is a decorative container you're missing the point. I do have a decorative one. It's also used as a colander.

Whinster
if not for uncle roger i wouldnt have known this one!

Player #564909, Isn't it fun to learn? Isn't that one of the points of trivia?

jay
I thought that they meant a knife sheath
A knife sheath is used as a protective cover for knives. It is also known as a saya or a scabbard (though there are small differences in meaning between these terms). Whether you're talking about a kitchen knife or a pocket knife, a knife sheath helps keep your knife protected as well as transportable.

Maria Lishy
