Speaking of the animal, I'd rather run into a grizzly bear while backpacking than a wolverine. They are the most dangerous creature in the American wilderness... Fortunately, they tend to stay in areas with year round snowpack though.

Supremesavage21, I've only ever seen one in person, fortunately from my car. I stopped to let it cross a deserted two lane mountain road. When it was directly in front of my vehicle, it turned, hissed and suddenly lunged at the front bumper of my Toyota 4-Runner... my friend & I just sat there stunned as it sauntered off. However, I also saw a special where they had rescued wolverine cubs & were training them for avalanche rescue because they can smell so well under the snow. With their trainers they behaved like giant ferrets. They're fascinating animals, but I still hope I never see one too close in the wild!

I'm a Michigander! Of the Toledo War, it was about water rights because it sustained a way of living. The federal government had to step in to resolve the war. Because Ohio was a state and Michigan was still a territory, the federal government gave the Toledo area to Ohio and gave Michigan our beautiful Upper Peninsula! We definitely got the better end of the deal. And yes always, GO BLUE! UM fan I am!
