I had a very mild case, just itching, no pain. It lasted 2 weeks. My father in law has had it for 15 months and counting. His was very painful for a year but is easing up now.

I had Shingles while in my 40s. I got treated early so didn't get it real bad. It did burn but the treatment helped a lot. Anyone who has had chickenpox is susceptible.

It sounds Painful, I hope I never get it ,I was 4 when I got Chicken Pox thank goodness I didnt have them that bad my twin Sister was 4 Also got then before me I get them from her but she had them alot worse then Me.

recovering slowly, had it on my face, couldn't believe just how painful, in hospital on I.V. drugs for 6 days, two months have passed and I'm still on meds for the nerve damage, eyesight seems to be ok.

CrunchyHotDog90072, So sorry to hear. I also had it in my eye. Saw my ophthalmologist immediately and felt this helped in saving my sight. Just before I was diagnosed I met a neighbor who had lost her eye and had a lovely glass eye. I have had shingles twice, both times on my face, same side and same place. Very rare according to the doctor. Seek medical help quickly.

I had it down the right side of my body. Had to lay on my eight side on a cement floor right on my arm to help the pain. Probably because I cut off the feeling to my right arm to get a least some relief from the pain!

I got shingles at age 21 while 5 months pregnant...Had to go to 2 doctors to get diagnosed properly and treated with the right meds and pain medication. Due to being so young the first doctor didn't believe I had shingles, even with the rash and extreme pain. The 2nd doctor looked for about 1 min and diagnosed shingles and gave me pain medication. Was so shocked at the lack of concern and intelligence by the first Dr I saw. I pray I never get it again, it was sooo painful!
