Greyghost 68, He wasn't put into a Prison. He was placed under House arrest. Remember who he was and how important and significant he was. Therefore, he was confined in a manner becoming to his status. His life in 'imprisonment' was one that ordinary, lowly wretched prisoners could only dream of.

* Seshati *, Are we talking about Beethoven? He died from lead poisoning. There is a fascinating book, Beethoven’s Hair, that explains the providence that was used to authenticate that the hair tested was really Beethoven’s. He’s one of my favorite composers.

They used to dye clothes, mostly women’s dresses, with a green dye called Paris Green. Arsenic is what gave it the green color and many women died from arsenic poisoning.

LolaB, though apparently he did have high levels of arsenic, saw an article recently that stated his hair was tested & had very high levels in it!
