The beautiful opera house was still being built when I lived in Australia but we cruised the harbor and wondered what it would end up looking like when completed.

Unfortunately his effort & style were not perceived as a feat nor appreciated until some years later don’t know all of the circumstances but I believe he left the job undone & went back home. Many years later he was congratulated on his pioneering efforts. Sadly this is not uncommon in the world where a new idea can cause some tension or distress in the community until it is understood, aghhh humans lol 😝 so much to learn.

Ironically, the project process was a complete architectural failure: the budget was 7 million and it ended up costing 102 million. The schedule was 4 years & it took 14 years to build. Still - a phenomenal building to this day!!
