...a direct rocket propelled grenade hit and was quickly enveloped by hostile automatic weapons and rocket fire from three sides. Despite the enemy barrage, Sergeant Strahin immediately began covering the hostile positions with suppressive fire and the other vehicles into an assault formation. As a result of Sergeant Strahin's decisive and aggressive leadership, the planned enemy ambush was turned into a decisive friendly victory. Staff Sergeant Strahin's courage and unwavering...

Thank you for your service to all Vietnam veterans. Thank you to all who paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country, for our freedom and and with deep sorrow my apologies to the veterans who returned home to many such ungratefulness and disrespect that you did not deserve. We honor you and the service you gave

Saw the traveling Vietnam Wall outside in 100 degree weather. I went with my brother . The wall was sweating with sweat coming down. My brother said it looked like the wall was crying. Never forgot that. 😭

Some American soldiers stayed in Nam, living there and had friends and family, would shy away from the Americans that came back to visit or there to look for them, ,watching documentaries show that happens in most war zones,,and it’s sad too for the soldiers family and friends who never had closure,

That is a war we fought with one hand tied behind our backs. The POTUS would not allow troops to pursue the enemy across country lines and halted efforts to neutralize the Sam sites in North Vietnam before they could become operational.

Thank you to all Viet Nam veterans and Viet Nam Era (VNE) veterans, those KIA & MIA, & their spouses and other family members for their sacrifices. VNE vets were involved in secret ops (eg. rescue missions) such that they could not even receive any recognition that they were VN vets even though they served during the war.

constantgamer0421, thank you constantgamer for that info. Medal of Honor winners get a lot of publicity, but winners of the Silver Star seem to get left behind. Sgt Strahin certainly deserves all the recognition and thanks we can give his memory ✝️
