The Middle East has been at war for centuries. The U. S. is not going to be able to achieve peace, especially lasting peace. Our government is only causing great loss to our military. Many of the soldiers who return, will struggle medically, mentally, and emotionally for many years. To me the price is way to high for such little gain. A war of futility, similar to Vietnam.

Kabul and Tehran were epicenters of Culture and progressive lifestyle in the early 70s. It’s sad to see the annihilated territories after the long Wars and overthrown Governments. Unrecognizable!

++Littlejohnny++, This war has become what I feared it would, a form of Viet Nam; another endless and ultimately pointless war. The U. S. cannot change areas that have been at war for thousands of years. The war was supposedly. due to 9-11. Nothing we do, is ultimately going to prevent piolets from crashing into tall buidings. Prior to 9-11 our government had warnings, but chose to ignore them.

All of the comments were very "eye opening" as to the problems caused and the results of this "help/interference" by the rest of the world. So many conflicting opinions. 1. majority of people are good and can't to help. 2. human nature has to do with power- alpha male/female must dominate. 3. Islam is not a terrorist religion. It's interpretation by power hungry people choose to interpret the Koran in that manner. May we all live in peace some day.
