My Father served under Patton during the drive across the Rhine, where his Armored Division earned the nicknames of the Mystery Division and the Suicide Division. He tells me that they referred to Patton as “Blood and Guts, his guts and our blood”.

Tony Raztraño, you're right, Gen G. S. Patton, born in San Gabriel, CA, was the greatest general of his time, IMHO. He suffered from Dyslexia, and had trouble passing the entrance exam for USMA, at West Point, NY. So he went to VMI for a year in preparation for entering the USA Military Academy at West Point, NY, he graduated with the Class of 1909.
