Steveh22, not misleading at all, it clearly states which continent each cat is from. The whole point is that we use the term black panther to denote a black cat of either variety, both leopards and jaguars can be born without their usual two-tone markings and are then referred to as a black panther.

Black panthers and jaguars have the same colouring as their normal coloured partners. You just can't see their markings due to their skin colour.

Melode, India is part of the Asia continent, so yes they have a large leopard population. In fact they were once considered problematic and killed due to human encroachment on their territory but are now treated like we treat wildlife that lives too close to humans. They tranquillize them, have them vet checked and move them to a remote location where they are safe. But makes me wonder how long before someone wants to build on that land as well. We are an invasive species on earth that should be eradicated.

Player #3246915, correct; think of it in this way: they're all panthers, those that aren't black are called leopards or jaguars, based on their continent of origin.

even though I knew a black panther was either a jaguar or a leopard and that black panther isn't a separate species. It had never occurred to me that there's no separate panther species itself.
