When did the U.S. Patent Office issue a patent for the telephone to Alexander Graham Bell?

Due to us all being connected to the universe, it is not unusual for 2 or more people to have the same idea or similar, at the same time. The universe is quite amazing and intricate.

Having retired from the Bell System I knew this one. Bell also invented the Diving Bell and created the decibel levels. "MA Bell" received 100's of Mother's Day cards every year. Bell labs got a patent every day for years and years including for the transistor and diodes and launched the very first communications satellite. Fantastic company to work for.
