What is parchment made from?

This is a confusing question. Parchment is also a commonly used paper for baking.

What?, they call it parchment, but true parchment was/is made from skins, often deer, sheep or cattle. It's part of what made books so expensive in the past. It took a lot of animal skins to make just one Bible.
