Angel Smith ... Ooft, good luck with that! Nobody is allowed to parody themselves or criticise anyone else in these days of political correctness :(

hey Meathead!!! love it. politically incorrect and all!!!
nimblemoon
Sure hope someone, someday will create a cable channel just for British sitcoms. The BBC here is mostly Star Trek and Dr. Who.

Player #1996696, That's a pretty crass statement. I know this is a predominately American game, but try opening your eyes to what the rest of the world can offer.

freegal1776, ya got that right thease new generations of people don't understand our type of humor from back in the 70's

WantonBlond63, Well, Norman Lear who created that show (and Maude & the Jeffersons among others) recently died at the age of 93. RIP Norman and thank you.

Player #13023389, My favorite episode was the one with Sammy Davis. the look on Archie's face when Sammy kissed him at the end of the show was priceless!

WantonBlond63,
being pc has taken away from the comedy writers and the comedians who tell the jokes that the writers wrote jmo

Melode, I refuse to be politically correct

There’s also a great scene when Edith explains to Mike why Archie yells at him- the show had lots of great moments.

I just watched an episode (thanks, MeTV) where it was Archie & Edith’s 25th anniversary. It made me cry- because Archie is generally acerbic, his tenderness was all the more lovely. One of the points of the show - that shouldn’t be lost- is that no one is all good or all bad. People are complex. Great show!

Guillermo, That’s hilarious. Never saw that one yet. Thanks for the laugh.

Player #18993400, that's what it says ... that the British show inspired the show in the U. S. idk who you are correcting here. everyone agrees with you, I think.

freegal1776, PC has a lot to answer for in the type of tv shows being shown. I always thought the point of many of these shows was to use humor to show the ridiculous nature of some of the controversial material. This got the message across most effectively. In particular I miss this type of programming, and can also remember back to the days of on particular series in the UK called ‘Love thy Neighbor’, which probably did more good for racial equality than any politician could.
Melode
I'm proud to say I am not politically correct. I don't always
agree with what everyone else thinks I am my own person and have a mind of my own. I wish more people would not just go with everyone else..

Till Death us do part was very funny and popular at the time in uk, but wasn't the greatest show on tv here, Only Fools n Horses takes that honour, albeit filmed later on, but shows like Porridge with Ronnie Barker and Beckinsale can't remember his first name were far superior at the time.
