What is a Radiosonde?

strange but true... About 30 years ago I found one of these little devices on my front lawn. A very unassuming almost Cube size box about 5 to 6 inch on each side. this was almost as interesting as the time that someone left a bowling ball in my driveway. got to love the suburbs.
