pixieish, They didn't mention that it is called Mono mostly. Had it at 22 yrs old, worst 4 weeks of my life! My doctor actually gave me liquid lidocaine to swallow to numb my throat...it is a horrible illness

This used to be referred to as mono where I'm from. my 40+ niece took 3 months to get over it.

Awful condition, ended up in hospital with mine as throat closed up so badly I couldn’t swallow anymore, the pain was monstrous. Ended up having to have my tonsils removed as it left them with holes in that were prone to infection.
