Who wrote the novel 'Alice in Wonderland'?
Correct answer: Lewis Carroll
InglorionEvershon
Samantha U. Stephenson, Where do you get that Dodgson was a pedophile?!?
Also, Carroll is NOT a girl's name spelled thus. CLD was constructing a pen-name, using the Latin for his given name (Charles <--> Carolus) respelled to match an actual English surname, and the Anglicised version of his Germanic middle name (Lutwidge < Ludwig, cogn. Med.Lat. Ludohovicus, Fr. Louis, Eng. Lewis) for a first name. In 19th century Britain, it was not seen as appropriate or respectable for nobility, academics (like Dodgson) or women to write. Hence the rather large number of literary pseudonyms in the age.

What are all of you writing about???? There have been mysteries about Alice and Wonderland, since it was written. The idea of anyone being a pedophile, is a horrible accusation, that I hope you researched and have some concrete proof, otherwise stop showing childish envy! The most classic and interesting theory I have heard was based in the 1970's, when Elton John released his hit Lucy and the Sky with Diamonds (hint: abbreviation being LSD). If you carefully listen to the lyrcs, Elton seems to be describing a part from Alice and Wonderland as well as celebrating the trip one can get from LSD. Personally, I prefer to accept Carroll's own explanation. There was a very real Alice....Carroll's own daughter. Carroll said he wrote the book about his daughter and utilized his own imagination. You know, there are people, who can be totally sober and be so right brained, that they have something simple and oh so precious: an imagination of their own creation! Pity there are so many untalented critics, who can only imagine sick thoughts and drug accusations, to swing at incredible talent, they can't even begin to comprehend. What a pity that these untalented critics only seem to possess a huge dose of envy, rather than a smidgen of talent. Anyone can be a talentless, even lying critic.

Player #9495659, As much as I agree with you fact checking agrument, I can't just ignore that you should have done some yourself.
While it is true that Elton John did do a cover of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds in '75, the song is originally by the Beatles ('67) and written by John Lennon.
You are correct about the lyrics mentioning Alice in Wonderland though.

Alan M, no, he was a brilliant, yet somewhat shy man. He was a masterful mathematician as well as writer but I've heard & read a few times he did have a form of Dyslexia. Since I obviously didn't live back then, never meeting him personally, I cannot apply it as a definite fact but I wrote a college research paper on him and he was an amazing man!
