he was far more than that, he was also a proponent of the rights of the poor. a social reformer.

While it was good that slavery was abolished we must never forget that it does still go on. Every day countless young people are forced into prostitution, and people of any age are made to work for a pittance. If you have any doubts that there may be slaves somewhere PLEASE report it to the authorities, you might just save someone's life.

SOOTI, I think it is now believed more people are living in slavery than at any time in history. Just because something becomes illegal does not mean it stops

There is a Movie about this wonderful man's life and His fight to free slavery in England,it is called Amazing Grace. You can find it on line or any Christian Book shop.

Again another point of information that QuizzLand has opened me UP to I didn’t know anything about this individual!! I live near Hull and have gone round his house he used to live in, it's a fine house on the banks of the river hull. If you ever get the chance I recommend you get to Hull and look round, there's even a very life-like model of William Wilberforce sitting there. I believe it's still free to look around and if you ever visit Hull try and look round the Street life museum it's great as well.
