ShootingStahh1, I lost my son to SIDS back in 1992. he had just had a physical the day before, and was pronounced healthy. research since then has attributed SIDS may be caused by an infection and or swelling of the uvula. This research was done mostly by autopsy of the victims back then.

Paula, not caused by. it says scientists have hypothesized--suspected & proposed--that it's the cause of SIDS.

ShootingStahh1, the pain does subside a little, but it never goes away. I know the same pain and the questions that run thru ur mind over n over. why?? there MUST be a reason why they die. Babies don't just die for no reason. It's very hard to wrap ur mind around that thought because it makes no sense. I'm truly sorry for ur loss. My son Brandon would be been 37 yrs old this October, and I will never forget him.

Recent breakthrough research conducted by scientist from Sidney found a lack of enzyme in the little angels responsible for SIDS. They struggle to wake up un case of dangers i.e breathing difficulties. So, if you are a parent reading this, it is not your fault.

D.Simp, I just heard of a recent study done on SIDS - it seems babies susceptible to SIDS have a lower amt of a particular enzyme than children who aren't susceptible. Only correlative for now, but hopefully a step toward preventing it. So very sorry for your loss. I hope you have found peace.

To any parent that has lost a child to S.I.D.s my dearest condolences to you all. I lost my baby sister 3 years ago and our Father has never been the same. The loss of a child is so sad 😞
