Player #3813778, Not her maiden name, her middle name. Mother's name was Mary Wollstonecraft I just found out. But I fully agree. Always known her by her full name and found the choices confusing.

I love how it capured human nature in it's fear and need to destroy what is different from us instead of trying to understand it.

Her name was Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. She was also known as Mary Shelley. She was never known as Mary Wollstonecraft, it was not her maiden name. She grew up as Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin or Mary Godwin and was raised by her father because her mother, the writer Mary Wollstonecraft, died when she was young.

Shelly was such a gifted writer - more so than her husband in my opinion.

The book is different in many ways to the movies, that have been churned out. Mary Shelley used the book, as a way to express grief, loss, and her wish that there was a way to bring back her loved ones to life. Mary Shelly’s mother died giving birth to her. Near the time she wrote Frankenstein, Mary had suffered the loss of her infant daughter.

Woolstonecraft should've been correct as she wasn't married when she wrote Frankenstein. She hadn't married Percy Shelley yet.
