when it first came out, you HAD to use a real potato - all you got were the nose, ears, eyes, etc. That's how old I am!

The plastic potatoes came later. as a child in the 50's, I remember using a real potato, and shoving the plastic parts onto it. The kit included a variety of ears, noses, lips, and even included a pipe. I had a blast arranging and rearranging his face. Forgot to mention eyes.

as a little girl I did get a real pit head with everything for Xmas from one a family member I loved it played with it did had lots of ex eyes, nose, month so so on it was one of my favorite toy back in the days
