Although I thought John Thaw was an excellent actor I never watched any of the shows in the question and on my screen I couldn’t see the authors name or that it was in the Morse book series cool fact about Oxford having a district called Jericho!

Taramaiden,
Actually the reference to Jericho is not an obscure biblical one , it’s because there is an area of Oxford called Jericho where the murders occur

upthevale1973, the photo has since changed. I worked this out because of the erudite and educated nature of inspector Morse himself. I deduced that only a singularly intelligent officer would be connected to such an obscure reference in investigating a murder.

it's on the book!!!
