Who was the Roman goddess of war?

That's the first time me using 'ask the majority' that they've gotten it wrong. gutted

I would have thought that Minerva was a better known Roman goddess of war, the counterpart of the Greek Athena. Not that I'm an expert.

wouldn't her Greek counterpart be Athena who sprang from her father's head with a sword and shield.
