FaithfulReader, I think maybe realism was essential before cameras were invented. Portraits had to look like their subjects. Oh, the good old days when you actually knew what you were looking at.

I enjoy art. I dabble in it myself...drawing and shading with pencils, pastels, and charcoal and creating with watercolors. And I prefer still life and landscape. My son is an artist as well; but he draws cars and sentient robotic characters (Transformers). And he can build anything with Legos!
