That day was a beautiful sunny day in Toronto. I was at work in a daycare centre in a school and my husband and other spouses started phoning to say a plane had struck the Trade Center in New York and then the Pentagon and it was deliberate. Everyone was in shock. The supervisor setup a TV in the staff room. It was so shocking and scary at the time. All those people who lost their lives!

The WTC towers were completed by 1973.

i visited the Centre in 1997 and went to the top of the tower. the day of the disaster I came home from work and thought my husband was watching the film Towering Inferno again!
