It was horrific watching it on television, I could not believe what my eyes were seeing as it was totally terrifying.

such a terrible event seared in the mind, it brought so many people together, United in rescue efforts amidst the enormous grief.

The event also showed us that stripping coastlines of their vegetation for buildings or to create great views, removed the barriers that protected the coasts. The destruction was worse where humans already destroyed the natural areas.
