This story has always reminded me of the story of Ulysses who took 20 years to get home from the Trojan War. It just seems to me to be the classic story of the guy who goes out to buy ice cream and doesn’t come home.

Never knew he had a dog. I always wonder if there was ever a movie made to see what happened after he woke up .. I heard his wife passed and he lived with his daughter. It would be great to see a major movie about his life
