A Die is also a metal mold . You make a mold ..a Die....and you pour molten metal in to it to cast a shape into the shape of the Die. But first you must cast the Die which is the most difficult part and once done you never have to cast it again. So once the Die is cast that's everything set for a full production run , otherwise all is set and cant be changed. The Die is cast. Nothing to do with throwing dice. noth

This is because English is a polyglot language, a mixed blend of Norse, German, French, Latin and any other "useful" words it finds attractive. "England is the nation of shopkeepers" is a true explanation of the entire history of that island!

Player Allans, interesting. But Caesar, according to Suetonius, said, "Iacta alea est." Iacta is Latin for dice or a similar gaming piece. Caesar actually said it in Greek, quoting Menander. Meander was also referring to dice (or similar gaming piece). Either way, the meaning is the same: the decision is made and events are in action--nothing can change that.

Montana Lady, because the root forms of the words originate from different languages, so although they are spelt similarly, because of their geographical origins they follow different pronunciations. You're welcome.
