Edward Sausage Finge, Yes, camelia sinensis. Anything else should be called a tisane, not a tea. Also in the answer, there is no such thing as a classification as yellow tea. Green, oolong, & black are common w/the more rare white teas. Chamomile is a tisane, not a tea.

Heartland Old Guy, I went with Turkey 'cos I've had a number of Turkish friends over the years & they all drink tea like it's water. They have a lovely way of making & serving it too.

In Turkey every street, square and corner has a tea cafe its wonderful. They drink their tea without milk normally. Serving it in glasses which resemble tulip flowers🌷lovely memories of Istanbul 🕌

In Arabic and Arab influenced african culture, you’ll often be offered tea whilst they make the coffee from scratch - tea often with sugar and mint, coffee with spiced after home roasting- delicious but not necessarily what you crave in 40-50 degree heat.

Colette, after visiting SA, Rooibos became my favorite tea, I live in the US and they used to sell it in the grocery stores, but now I have to order it online. Everytime I drink it, the smell takes me back to SA!

I lived in Turkey for awhile. Everywhere you go they offer you chi. Very strong and served with lots of sugar.
